Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

Dapper Fellas Barbershop ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect when you book, visit, or use the AI Try-On feature, how we use it, and your rights over it. Plain English. No legal acrobatics.

What we collect

  • Booking data. Name, phone, email, service requested, preferred barber, appointment time. Collected when you book through our scheduling partner Altegio.
  • AI Try-On photos. The selfie you upload to preview a haircut style. See AI Disclosure for full handling details.
  • Newsletter signups. Email address you submit to The Dispatch. Stored by our form processor (Formspark) for delivery only.
  • Contact submissions. Anything you send via email or phone.
  • Basic analytics. Page visits, referrer, screen size, country. Aggregated, not tied to your identity.

How we use it

  • To confirm and remember your appointments.
  • To process your AI Try-On preview and return the result to your screen.
  • To send you The Dispatch (quarterly), only if you opt in.
  • To improve the site and the chair experience.
  • To comply with the law if and when we're required to.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build a profile of you.

Who else handles your data

To run the shop and the website we use trusted third-party processors. Each one only sees the data it needs:

  • Altegio — booking and scheduling. Sees your name, phone, appointment details.
  • fal.ai — AI Try-On image processing. Sees the selfie you upload, returns the styled preview, deletes the original immediately. See AI Disclosure.
  • Twilio — phone calls and SMS confirmations. Sees your number and the message body.
  • Google Workspace — email correspondence (dapperfellas@yahoo.com is also active for inbound).
  • Cloudflare — site delivery and AI Try-On rate limiting. Sees IP and basic request metadata.
  • Formspark — Dispatch newsletter signup form. Sees the email you submit.

Text messages (SMS)

We text you about your appointment. Nothing else happens automatically – you have to ask for it first.

  • How you opt in. Three ways, all of them yours to start: you tell our phone receptionist "yes, text me" when you call; you check the box on the booking form on this site; or you tap "text me a confirmation" on the tablet at the front desk. We never add a number that didn't ask.
  • What we send. Booking confirmations, your place in the walk-in line, a reminder the day before, and – only if you opted into offers – an occasional note when a chair opens up.
  • How often. Message frequency varies with your visits. Most guests get 2 to 4 messages a month.
  • How you stop. Reply STOP to any message and we stop immediately, no questions. Reply HELP for help, or call (818) 392-5771.
  • Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Your consent stays here. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, or transfer your mobile phone number, your SMS opt-in data, or your messaging consent to anyone. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Our messaging provider (Twilio) handles delivery on our behalf and nothing more.

Cookies and tracking

The site uses one functional cookie (theme preference) and minimal aggregated analytics. No advertising cookies. No third-party trackers beyond the booking iframe and the maps iframe, which are sandboxed Google products.

Your rights

You can:

  • Ask what we have on you. We'll tell you within 30 days.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Withdraw consent for newsletter or marketing at any time (one-click unsubscribe).
  • If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA — same process: email us.
  • If you're in the EEA / UK, you have additional rights under GDPR — same process: email us.

Contact: dapperfellas@yahoo.com · (818) 392-5771.

Children

The site is designed for adult booking. The Cadet service is for guests under 12, but a parent or guardian must book on their behalf. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Retention

Booking history: kept for as long as you remain an active client plus three years. Try-On photos: deleted immediately by fal.ai after processing — we do not store them on our servers. Newsletter email: kept until you unsubscribe.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where required, notify you. The version that applies to your visit is the one published when you visited.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute is resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, unless mandatory consumer-protection law gives you a different right.
